1950's Archie Moore Worn Boxing Gloves.
This pair of black and brown leather boxing gloves was consigned to this auction by the family of Archie Moore, who won a staggering 185 bouts during a career that spanned four decades. The Mongoose holds the distinction of being the longest reining light heavyweight champion of all-time and the only boxer to fight both Rocky Marciano and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali). Tagging on each reads "Sammy Frager Boxing Gloves Etc. Midwest Gym, Chicago." The wondrous wear from the veteran pugilist has aged the gloves to a soft and supple condition.  Whether fight or training-worn, Mongoose gear is highly desirable.
